Short term accommodation (STA)

Short term accommodation is a support that funds a temporary stay away from a participant’s usual home, along with the support they need during that stay. It is often shortened to STA in plans and provider materials.

STA is used for a short break, to trial living more independently, or while a participant’s usual support arrangements are unavailable.

STA sits within core supports, and a provider must be registered in the relevant registration group to deliver and claim for it under agency-managed arrangements.
