NDIS Support Item Search

Search the current Support Catalogue by code, description, or keyword.

This tool searches every item in the current NDIS Support Catalogue. Type a code, a word from the description, or an easy to understand phrase, and the matching items appear with their support category, their support class, and the average the NDIA paid per participant against that item nationally over the most recent reported year.

What a support item is

A support item is one line in the NDIS Support Catalogue. Each item has a code, a description, a support category, and a support class. Providers quote these codes on invoices, and plan managers match invoices to a plan by them.

The code follows a set shape: a leading pair of digits for the registration group, then a sequence that identifies the specific support and its rules. Searching a partial code returns every item that starts the same way, which is a fast route into a whole group.

Support category and support class explained

Support class is the broad bucket a support sits in: Core, Capacity Building, or Capital. Support category is the narrower grouping inside it, such as Daily Activities, Assistive Technology, or Consumables. The catalogue assigns both to every item.

Where an item sits in the catalogue is a fact about the catalogue. It is separate from what any individual plan includes, which depends on the participant, their goals, and how their funding is managed. This tool reports the catalogue facts and stops there.

How to read the payment figure

Each result shows the average the NDIA paid per participant against that item across the country over the most recent reported year, with the national total and participant count underneath. Read it as a description of national spending patterns, not as a price, a price limit, or anything about a specific plan.

The average divides total national payments by the number of participants with any payment against the item, so it blends heavy and light use of the same support. Items with no reported figures show "being confirmed" rather than a guessed number.

Item code Description Support category Support class Avg per participant (year)

The average is NDIA payments against each item in the year to 31 March 2026, divided by the number of participants with a payment against that item. It describes national spending patterns - it is not a price limit, not an entitlement, and not a claim about any single plan.

How it works

  1. Type any part of a code, description, or keyword. Matching runs across the item code and the description together.
  2. Narrow the list with the support class and support category filters.
  3. Read each row for the category and class the item sits under, plus the average paid per participant over the year.
  4. Copy the item code straight into an invoice or a note to your plan manager.

What it cannot tell you

  • Whether a support is in your plan. That depends on your individual plan and goals, which no catalogue can show.
  • The price limit for an item. This tool lists items and payment volumes, not the price tables.
  • Anything about a single participant. The average is a national figure across everyone who used the item, and individual amounts vary widely around it.
