Support at Home & AT-HM

The aged-care pathway for assistive technology and home modifications.

Support at Home is the aged-care program that serves many older Australians who are outside the NDIS. Within it, the assistive technology and home modifications pathway, known as AT-HM, funds equipment and home changes through tiers based on cost and complexity.

How AT-HM tiers work

Equipment and modifications are grouped into tiers, each with its own cap and its own level of assessment. The AT-HM tier checker explains what each tier covers.

NDIS or aged care?

The two systems are separate, and which one applies depends on a person's age and circumstances. People who acquire disability later in life are generally served through aged care rather than the NDIS. The official Support at Home pages carry the current rules and the way in.
