Low-cost assistive technology is equipment priced under a threshold set in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. This checker compares a price you enter against that published threshold and reports the arithmetic, so you can see which side of the line a product sits on before you talk to your plan manager.
What low-cost AT means
Assistive technology is equipment that helps with a task, from a shower stool to a powered wheelchair. The Pricing Arrangements group it by price into low, mid, and high cost bands, and the low-cost band is the one with the lightest process around it.
The published threshold that marks the top of the low-cost band is shown above, drawn from the constants file rather than typed by hand. In remote and very remote areas a loading applies to price limits, and those loadings are shown there too.
How the check reads
Enter a price and the tool will state whether the figure sits below or above the published threshold. That is arithmetic against a number in the Pricing Arrangements, nothing more.
Being below the threshold is a fact about the price. It is not a statement about your plan, your goals, or what the NDIA will decide. Whether a purchase suits your plan is a conversation for you and your plan manager or support coordinator.
