NDIS

NDIS is short for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is a national scheme, not a single payment or product, and it works by giving eligible participants an individualised plan built around their own goals.

The scheme is delivered by the National Disability Insurance Agency, the government body that assesses access requests, builds plans, and administers funding rules. A separate body, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, regulates the conduct of providers and workers who deliver supports under the scheme.

Because every plan is built around an individual’s own goals and circumstances, no two plans look the same, and no website or list can state in advance what a particular plan will include.
