Capacity building

Capacity building is a budget type that funds supports designed to build a participant's skills and independence over time.

Capacity building is one of the three budget types in a plan. It funds supports aimed at building skills, such as therapy, training, and support coordination, rather than supports used day to day.

Each support in this budget belongs to its own support category, and money is locked to the category it was allocated for, unlike the free movement inside core supports.

What a capacity building budget includes reflects a participant’s own goals, assessed against the reasonable and necessary test at each planning meeting or plan reassessment.
