Support category

A support category is the specific grouping within a budget that describes what a particular type of support is for.

A support category is the level of detail inside a plan’s budgets that describes what a support is for, such as daily activities, consumables, or home modifications.

Every item in the Support Catalogue sits under one support category, and that placement determines whether spending on it can move freely or is locked to a stated purpose.

Support categories are set nationally by the NDIA, and their current definitions and item codes are published in the Support Catalogue alongside the Pricing Arrangements.
