Registration groups and audit type
The NDIS Commission sorts supports into registration groups, and a provider registers for the groups that match what they deliver. The groups you need decide the rest of the process, so getting them right early saves rework.
The audit pathway follows from the groups. Lower-risk supports sit on the verification pathway, a lighter document-based check. Higher-risk supports need certification, a fuller audit against the Practice Standards. The wizard will tell you which one your selection triggers.
What registration does and does not decide
Registration lets a provider deliver agency-managed supports and appear on the Commission register. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can use unregistered providers too, so registration is a business decision as much as a compliance one.
